98SE-tan is an OS-tan representing Windows 98 Second Edition.

History

The only entries in the OS-Tan Vault, a website debuting in late 2003 hosting artwork of the first OS-tans, for Windows 98 did not include 98SE-tan. The Troubled Windows opening serves as the earliest dated representation of her, and as such she can be reasonably concluded to have debuted around 2004.

Appearance

Secchan is most commonly depicted as a silver or light blue-haired and blue-eyed middle school student in a bright green seifuku with a yellow necktie. She has a short ponytail tied on the left side of her hair by a hairtie with two circular red affixations.

Like 98-tan, her early design was that of a Vulcan toy as part of a pair of stick-limbed snackboxes with a face and version number drawn in white crayon. The two are still commonly depicted with these snackboxes to this day, though in the form of power armor or a mechanical suit rather than as a placeholder.

Personality

98SE-tan's most consistent trait across several Japanese works consists of an obsessive hatred of men and futanari' penises. She is often depicted carrying a sharp sui generis can-opener that is used almost exclusively to perform amateur penectomies upon men and futanari alike. While work on her design was still underway, she also was depicted as being shy, with her head often seen poking out of a Vulcan snackbox like her sister.
